RCE Penang are honoured to receive a study visit by Tongyeong Middle School students, from South Korea who are keen to learn about Malaysian cultural assets. The visit on 15th and 16th February 2016 was organized under the RCE Tongyeong Bridge To The World. The students visited the Tuanku Fauziah Museum and Art Gallery, Masjid al-Malik Khalid and our traditional Malay ‘kampong’ village house replica in Universiti Sains Malaysia. With collaboration from our Kelab Sejahtera who helped to assist the visits to two schools in Penang which is Sekolah Menengah Agama al-Itqan and Sekolah Menengah Sains Tun Syed Sheh Shahabudin.
In Sekolah Menengah Agama al-Itqan , the students demonstrated the traditional Malay martial art, the Silat , nasyid performance, and interesting places in Penang. In exchange, a presentation by Tongyeong student on their school and a survey on the awareness of students about the cultures in Malaysia.
Meanwhile at Sekolah Menengah Sains Tun Syed Sheh Shahabudin, the students was welcomed with a presentation on their school background and information on famous local food followed by a visit around their school such as visiting the stingless bee area and their own art gallery. The students also had the opportunity to try on local traditional Malay dress
